Heart Space
The grandest tool in our toolkit is our heart space. It is not very large compared to the rest of our bodies, one might say our arms or our legs are bigger and better tools, but our heart space is the ‘tool’ that guides our every thought, word and action. It is from this place that our every interaction with others could guide how we think, speak and act. When we start to practice using this tool of heart space, we allow for a spaciousness within the spaces where we live, work and play. A spaciousness that softens any harsh words or negative emotions or unkind acts. An easy way to start to utilize this tool is to put your hand on your heart when you wake up in the morning, and to feel the beating of your own physical heart. Start to notice the rhythm, the thumping against your chest, how does it lift and rise inside of you? Feel the warmth emanating from this special place and even if only for a few moments, send gratitude to your heart for doing all the work it does every moment of every day to keep you alive and well. And then, place your hand somewhere on your body that needs attention. It could be a knee that aches after a night’s rest, or a belly that feels uncomfortable, or even your forehead if you are experiencing stress from thought patterns. When you do this, even for a moment or two, you are using your heart space tool to heal yourself. You are using your intention of sending love from your heart space to any place on your person that needs healing and love. Do this in the morning and any time throughout the day that you remember to. And once you begin to interact with others during the day, practice placing your hand on your heart space if any connection between yourself and others feels strained. See what it does for your own breathing, your own emotions, your own thoughts. For today, focus on using this tool for you own healing. We have so many beautiful gifts and tools that are accessible to us at all times, and this is one of many that the Universe wishes to share. Blessings.
