Innocence

Find within your heart that place that has room for everyone. It is generally very easy to love and welcome in those with whom we are like-minded and communication is easy. But once we start communicating with those with whom we perhaps are not like-minded or we disagree with their actions, viewpoints or words, we shut down our hearts and have a harder time seeing the similarities between us. Once we start to blockade ourselves from our own hearts, it is very easy to forget that they too have a heart, a desire to be loved, and want to be understood just like us.

For today, think about one person with whom you have difficulties with and ponder how you might have at least one thing in common. Can you rest into this with your heart? Can you perhaps see the world from their perspective for a moment? Can you nudge yourself into your heart space and honor that you both have a heart and lungs that beat with the same blood and breathe with the same air? Judgements don’t live in our hearts. Judgements swirl around us and make it harder to unlock our innocence.
