Time
There is no time like the present to be grateful. Time is not a linear concept that goes straight forward. We can bend time when we breathe into the moment and really appreciate what we have and who we are and where we are at. Time is the thing that we fight against sometimes, labor for or want more of. But time isn’t a commodity like a consumer good. Our society has constructed a concept of time that makes us view it like a thing we can buy or use up.
There is a different perspective on time that one can work with too. Time is available to everyone. We all have the exact same amount of time every day to do the things we love and appreciate the beauties of life. The sun comes up, crosses the sky, and then it goes down. No one has less or more time than anyone else. We cannot waste time, have spare time, or use up time. It just exists. This is not an easy way to look at it though. Our daily choices, societal choices and ancestral choices have built up the concept of time very solidly in the other perspective, the one that makes us thing it’s something for us to hold onto.
We can start to shift our choices, shift our thinking, shift our boundaries and our beliefs about time though. This could very well be a lifetime process. It is not easy. One might argue that we only let go of time while doing something creative or while on vacation.
For today, write down your beliefs about time and how these beliefs benefit you and how these beliefs might distract you from enjoying your life.
Then, start to see how you might shift some of the distracting beliefs, do away with them altogether, or consider making a choice that will be helpful in freeing you from limiting beliefs.
You are a limitless creature of creativity. Go out and express yourself!
