Roots

This is the time of year when our roots are doing a lot of work, strengthening, growing, spreading out in unseen ways beneath the beautiful deep dark earth to provide us a solid base upon which to shine and grow and blossom once the time is right. Today, honor the roots that you are developing this season. Thank all that supports you, within you and around you. As a culture of ‘always summer,’ we forget to take time to rest, recuperate and honor the unseen activity beneath our feet and within our hearts. How can you honor your unseen growth today? How can you honor your roots? Can you sit for a moment and be still? Can you go for a walk in nature and see the beauty in the darkness of winter and the hints of spring? When you honor the development of your own root system, you are allowing the necessary development of a strong foundation that will carry you into the brighter seasons with a courage and a capacity to know yourself in these more fast moving seasons. Just like a funghi’s extensive connective system underground, so too can your own connective system be so strong that nothing will deter or sway you from your own true spiritual growth. Be like the mushroom. Work on your inner strength so that once you reveal yourself to the world as a beautiful flowering soul, your inner strength will shine through so brightly that others will be inspired to know you and wonder at your beautiful strength.
