Gratitude

You are wise to be grateful. You are wise to be strong. You are wise to be curious. This is the time of year in which gratitude is necessary to sustain you through to the springtime. Gratitude as nourishment. In most places the dark of winter is no longer a time in which there is the possibility of famine, and yet what modern society experiences is a famine of gratitude in the dark of winter. Remember your ancestors who prayed to the higher powers in the dark of winter for the light to return. In the dark they sought their inner light to sustain them. We have electricity and supermarkets to sustain us, however there is the potential for a dearth of gratitude to envelop us all if we forget how to be whole. Be whole this winter. Overconsumption is so easy and there are many distractions that tempt us to believe we are not whole if we do not buy that one last thing or give that one last present! We are all whole just as we are, and together we make up a greater wholesome community of Oneness. Our gratitude will sustain us. We are all gratitude itself.
