Intentions
Just being present with all that is can move mountains in your mind. Being present with all that is can settle thoughts and plans and wishes and feelings that don’t help you to be grateful and curious about the life you are currently living.
Nothing really goes according to plan. The plan is something that we, as humans, think up in our minds and push ourselves to believe we are going according to plan.
But the plan can sometimes make us become so constrained in certain corners of our mind that we do not allow the flexibility or the freedom for other exciting, creative or potential paths to come forward. The plan could be, perhaps, the drive of our ego to think it knows how to do everything (according to plan).
Intentions are perhaps another way to cultivate what it mean to be a human on this earth doing creative work with each other for meaningful purposes.
It could be helpful to write down your intentions for the day, the week, the season or even the year. Be open-ended and descriptive but not prescriptive.
What is it that gives meaning to your life, your work, your relationships, your community?
How do you imbue your daily life with intentional interactions and activities?
The Plan can sometimes get in the way of living our lives with intention.
Invite yourself to ponder this today, and see what speaks to you.
